Busy Stretch for Hard Hitting Royals …..

It will be a busy 4 days for the hometown Peterbilt DQ Royals as they play 3 games starting Thursday in Saint John in a battle for 1st place.  Its the Moncton Mets at home Friday and then the rival Chatham Ironmen at Royals Field (7pm) Sunday night.

The Royals have hit their stride offensively averaging 8.5 runs per game through 11 games en route to a league best 9-2 record and a slim lead over the 2nd place Saint John Alpines (9-3).   The Royals have scored 92 runs on the strength of a league best 16 home runs with 8 different Royals hitting at least 1.

Game action kicks off Thursday night in Saint John with Troy Bishop (0-1, 6.72 era) taking the mound.  Friday Night Lights at Royals Field will feature Rookie Cody Wiggins making his first NBSBL start at 7:30 and on Sunday at Royals Field the Royals take on the Ironmen with veteran Jay Magee taking the ball at 7pm.
