Let’s Play Ball!!

The 2015 season has begun, and the new look Royals – now anchored by Major League draft pick catcher Aaron Johnson return home for the 1st installment of Friday Night Lights at Royals Field.  The home side play host to the newest entry in the senior league – the Moncton Fisher Cats in the back half of a home & home 2 game series.  In the opener the Royals hopped off their Trius Tours bus and handed the Fisher Cats a loss in their franchises first game, 4-1 on Monday afternoon.

Friday Night, in game 2 of the series and season the Royals will send the most decorated pitcher in senior baseball history to the mound.  Derek Wilson will bring his high 80’s fastball and pin point control to the hill looking to add another win to his career leading list of victories.  The Fisher Cats are expected to counter with hard throwing lefty Ben Sallows, arguably the leagues most dominant left handed pitcher.

For opening night ceremonies the Royals are pleased to have lefty City Councillor Mike O’Brien – Chair of the Economic Development Committee and soft tossing righty City Councillor Steven Hicks – Ward 5 (Marysville) throw the first pitches at 7:35.

Friday Night Lights – See you on the Hill !
